The Big Oaks The Big Oaks
Alienation, confusion, anger, loneliness, and (especially) belligerent humour.
cathode Cathode

d_rradio d_rradio
An absurd mix of the most joyous moments in your favourite late-night records and yet sound simultaneously like nothing else.

Jazzfinger Jazzfinger
They start noisily. They incessantly build layers of white noise onto of layers of unwieldy dissonance. They recreate an auditory Armageddon with amps. They end noisily.
Lachrymose One Lachrymose One
Pop melodies, attention-demanding dual vocals plus the requisite amount of off kilter changes and guitar noise.
Moira Stewart Moira Stewart
Very simplistic, upbeat, fun, shambolic electro/guitar pop.

Lush, downtempo beauty; downpours of cymbal-like hiss and mournful keys, shuffling beats, low, impassioned vocals, and dynamic crashing rhythms and mechanical shifts and slices.
Warm Digits Warm Digits
Ear-troubling krautrock rhythm 'n' noise, free improv drumming, no-wave guitar and Radiophonic electronics with a disseminating Sturm und Drang.

CathodeCrisp, warm, minimalist exquisite luminous organic chamber electronics are the order of the day here from Cathode. Logo Magazine said "carefully-coiled clicks and cuts are flooded under percussion that even R2D2 would struggle to accurately compute, where the key is always in the melody and those luscious rolling rhythms", and John Peel declared him as "first class, I'd say".

Cathode has two albums out on Expanding Records to add to his scrapbook of previous outings for tasteful independent electronica imprints including Static Caravan, 555 and Awkward Silence. His release on Distraction Records is the divine Chronophobia featuring Caroline Thorp on vocal duties, twinned alongside Economic Growth.

Jazzfinger

Eschewing the routine trappings of "tunes" and "melodies" in favour of drone and a strong cinematic sensibility, Jazzfinger bring to you their own unique brand of visual and aural exorcism. They start noisily. They incessantly build layers of white noise onto of layers of unwieldy dissonance. They recreate an auditory Armageddon with amps. They end noisily. They also unleashed 600 live crickets onto the audience at a gig once. They have dozens and dozens of LPs, tapes, CDRs and lathe cuts out on a multitude of DIY labels, and they've finally released a 100-only double-A side - Beachy Head / Moccocan Car Park (D. Harwood remix) (DIST23) on our humble little label. Ladies and gentlemen: Jazzfinger.
